...

And I was up in the black mountains

to see a cow stuck by a wall

and Mr Davies said to me

look at the lambs

I’m not meant to be, for another week

My wide she had a stroke

And she used to do all the mothering

Ive scanned for 180 percent

I miss her help and her company in the shed

Where is she at the moment, I asked

In the caravan on the hill

Alwyn and I sorted the cow

And on leaving ‘can I go and see her’

I asked

Sure Alwyn replied first up on the left

I walked over and opened the door

Hello I said

She was all cosy with the heater on

And the sun was in as fast

‘How are you today, you’re looking well’

‘I’m ok, good days and bad

she replies with a smile

And eyes as clear and big as you like

As crystal lakes gazing

‘How is the cow she asks’

It was stuck against the wall, but shes’ sitting up now

‘Maybe she will get up later’.

‘These things that happen to us

it makes you realise whats important in life doesn’t it;

of whats around without the drama

‘Yes I suppose it does Mrs Davies replied

‘But I never used to make a scene, even back when I was right’

I smiled graciously thinking

Yes! No drama, no hassle that is what we all need

But it is up to me isn’t it, to interpret life that way.

Good bye Mrs Davies, take care now I said  as I turned

toward the caravan door with the sun still streaming through

Do you want me to leave it the way it is

its warm and pleasant while the sun is out.
